Our Communities
Our communities encompass a diverse range of stakeholders and partners critical to our mission.
These include anchor partners such as Michigan State University (MSU) College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Farming Future Bangladesh (FFB), and REDBIO in Latin America, which form the core of the AFS Global Consortium.
Additionally, the communities include implementing partners and allies like FSD, FSA, SCDDD (Nigeria), AOCC, AUDA NEPAD, Africa Centre UK, and the ABC AgBiotech Coalition, and many others which extend the reach and impact of AFS initiatives.
Furthermore, AFS actively engages with communities of practice such as OFAB, ISAAA, IITA, and ICOSEED, to name a few, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
A significant aspect of the AFS community is the network of over 1000 Global Fellows based in over 40 countries, who are science advocates and play a crucial role in amplifying voices for science and innovation.
AFS also aims to connect with indigenous and local communities, recognizing their unique knowledge systems and contributions to science and technology, as seen in the Indigenous Science and Technology Initiative (ISTI). This broad network includes investors, partners, science allies, and the general public, all of whom are essential to achieving AFS’s goals of promoting science-based solutions for food security, health communications, and environmental sustainability.
